I was really hoping to get a better shot of this beauty. I’m sorry it’s not the best, but I refuse to try to capture a car while in motion. Since we rolled up to a long light I had a second to capture it. To me it looks like a mint 1970's Brown Porsche Targa.
The spots aren’t on the car, that’s my dirty window, we had a couple storms the past couple days, with high winds. I’ll get her to the wash this weekend.
The kid driving had to be in his early twenties with his girlfriend and dog for what looked to be a little get away.

Agreed. I tried to make the text brown too, but Kinja has failed me once again.

I looked up prices and they aren’t too bad for a classic, but still out of my range. Well kept ones were in the $60-$70k range. Is that what you found too?

I’ll be honest. I don’t like the look of the air-cooled Targas. But I’d still drive one if I had the chance, and brown is a good color for an old Porsche.

Kinja’d once again. But looking at a Targa makes it all better. I think it’s the only good-looking 911, at least post-996, when everything was terrible.

Ah, Sepia Brown. I think this may be the only Porsche color I have not seen with my own eyeballs.

Looks like a ‘78 or ‘79 SC with the rollbar stripped bare, I know the chrome window trim was optional on these but I’m pretty sure the rollbars were all black by this time. My dad intended to buy a ‘69 E Targa in this color combination when his tour on the aircraft carrier JFK concluded via European delivery but the DM and the dollar got out of whack and he couldn’t afford it. That car would be worth over $100k now......

Eh found some cheaper than that...varying degrees of condition. I saw a pretty nice one with higher miles and a replaced engine in ATL 6 months ago for 37k. I spent my low 30s on a Cayman S and I think I will enjoy the driving dynamic of it more than an older one.
